Managing Member of Willink Asset, Management LLC he has over 30 years’ experience in public and private finance and planning.
Willink Asset Management LLC was formed in 2004 as the successor firm to Frederick Raymond Fadel Advisors. It was then one of few fee-only investment and financial planning firms in Western New York.
In the mid 1980's Fred served as City of Buffalo Planning Director and Commissioner of Development. After two and one half years at the University at Buffalo's Graduate School of Architecture and Planning, he was recruited to City Hall where he became a key player in the planning and financing of development projects on the Waterfront, Theater District, Downtown, Transit Mall, and the restoration and reorganization of the historic Broadway Market.
He went on to establish a financial and real estate consulting practice in the early 1990's and worked in the insurance and securities industries at several firms where, among other licenses, he held his Series 7 stock broker's license. In 2001, he earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from the College of Financial Planning Board of Standards.
Beginning in 2002, Fred transitioned the business from a sales-oriented insurance and securities firm to a planning and investment practice operating under a fiduciary standard. That year he began a continuing association with Dimensional Fund Advisors, then hardly a household name in financial circles; now one of the most respected investment research and investment product providers in the US.
Fred and his wife Mary Ellen, a nurse practitioner, live in Williamsville, NY and have four sons. The Fadels remain active in church and community affairs.
Fred, a former ski instructor, rock climber and travel soccer coach, prefers flat water canoeing, and sunny ski slopes these days.
